Crusader names new medical director

ROCKFORD — Dr. Ed Okeson has been appointed as the medical director for Crusader Community Health, replacing Dr. Steve Lidvall.

Okeson has practiced family medicine at Crusader for 22 years and was chair of family medicine there for more than 15 years.

He received his medical degree from Northwestern University and completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Rockford. He also holds a Masters of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University.

Okeson has been instrumental in implementing an electronic medical records system at Crusader during the past year. As medical director, he will focus on expanding quality measures and processes to enhance overall patient outcomes.
