ROCKFORD — Home Instead Senior Care, 2606 Broadway, has developed Get Mom Moving Activity Cards and a Web site at getmommoving.com designed to keep seniors engaged and physically active.

“We regularly see seniors who are literally trapped in their homes because they are too weak to perform many of the activities they need to remain safe and independent, or to even enjoy life,” said Lindsey Gregg of the Home Instead Senior Care office. “That’s why staying active is viewed by so many as vital to healthy aging.”

The Web site discusses seniors’ fears about frailty and loss of independence; offers warning signs of frailty; and suggests activities such as card playing, puzzles, memory games, walking, leg strengthening and collecting items of interest as activities to engage the mind, body and soul.
