ROCKFORD — Registered nurses Sue Fricke, Jennie Kirkpatrick, Angel Rosilez and Jessica Wulf of Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center have completed the Pain Resource Nurse Education Program on comfort and pain control measures.
The center now has seven registered nurses who have completed the program.
“When caring for patients, pain management is one of our main priorities,” said Carol Couper, clinical care director for Northern Illinois Hospice and Grief Center. “A terminal illness triggers a multitude of mental, physical and spiritual challenges for people. We believe that physical concerns, such as pain, should be managed as well as possible to allow individuals the time to address other issues that might be important to them.”
