Rockford physician elected to medical society board

SPRINGFIELD — Dr. John J. DeGuide, a board-certified gastroenterologist with Rockford Gastroenterology Associates, has been elected as a trustee of the Illinois State Medical Society for a term that lasts through April 2013.

DeGuide is a former president of the Winnebago County Medical Society and current chairman of the state society’s Governmental Affairs Committee, on which he has served since 2006.

He is on the staffs of OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center and SwedishAmerican Hospital and is a member of several medical associations, including the Society of Air Force Physicians.
