Breast cancer survivors, caregivers and supporters in the Rockford area will join tens of thousands of American Cancer Society volunteers in Illinois and across the United States in the fight against the disease when they gather at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Oct. 25.
This noncompetitive event, scheduled at eight locations throughout Illinois, unites the community to honor and celebrate breast cancer survivors, educate women about their cancer risk and raise money to fund lifesaving research and support programs to further the progress against this disease.
The inspiring and heart-warming walks are expected to draw more than 20,000 participants in Illinois.
The seventh annual Rockford Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk will be at Martin Park in Loves Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the four-mile walk starts at 9 a.m.
